Stage Manager
Job Description
The Stage Manager will support daily operations by coordinating between clients, vendors, and various Steiner departments in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This individual must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with strong communication skills and the ability to execute effectively across a wide range of operational responsibilities. This position will work closely with internal departments to ensure seamless day-to-day studio operations and client support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Client & Vendor Coordination
- Foster positive working relationships with production clients, vendors, and internal Steiner departments.
- Liaise with production representatives and Steiner vendors to provide essential support throughout all production phases.
- Assist with client billing and invoicing, ensuring accurate tracking of production charges and services rendered.
- Assist the Steiner Operations team with client walkthroughs, tech and location scouting.
- Communicate and track progress of all production requests across departments including Bookings, Operations, Facilities, IT and Accounting.
- Update and distribute daily production schedules to internal departments, keeping all departments informed and aligned.
- Prepare and distribute daily and nightly department reports, providing valuable insights and real-time updates on client activities.
- Manage and monitor stage access for both clients and Steiner staff.
- Collaborate with security to manage clients' access, vehicle logistics, and special requirements, on an as-needed basis.
- Ensure client spaces are ready to be turned over, participate in final client walkthroughs, and coordinate production space turnovers with Steiner Operations departments such as Facilities, Bookings, and IT.
- Oversee clients while on site and enforce Lot-wide safety policies.
- Promptly address any safety issues or hazards to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
- Coordinate and report maintenance issues and requests to appropriate teams (Facilities, IT, Security, etc.).
- Coordinate waste removal between clients and Steiner vendors, ensuring responsible disposal practices and environmental sustainability.
- Manage FDNY consent letters, ensure fire lanes are clear in all operating stages, conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections, and coordinate fire alarm system offline requests for clients during both business hours and shooting schedules.
- Ability to walk large facilities and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays based on client needs.
- F-01 Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Lift Certification (for operating equipment such as scissor lifts, etc.)
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $31.00/hour
This range represents the anticipated hourly rate range for this position, in addition to competitive benefits. We carefully assess and consider several factors with each candidate, including role-related knowledge, experience and skills. Compensation may vary based on these considerations.
